VPR Publicizes Relay For Life of Willow Glen
June 8, 2010 - Molly McCarthy, VPR Principal, was honored to serve as
publicity chair for the 2010 Relay For Life of Willow Glen.
The 10th anniversary event included nearly 900 participants and teams
raised over $200,000, exceeding organizer goals.
Local media outlets showed their support by calendar-listing pre-event
fundraisers and festivities as well as coming out and covering the Relay
while underway. Over a 100 calendar listings appeared on/in local TV, Radio,
Online and Print media outlets. A pre-event story appeared in the San Jose
section of USA Today >> ; local TV and radio stations ran PSAs (NBC, KGO,
KTVU, KRON 4, KBAY, KRTY and more); and NBC 11 came out to cover the
opening ceremony with Mayor Chuck Reed.
Event coverage highlights include a 1/2 hour radio interview with Sam Van
Zandt of KBAY and a front page feature in the Willow Glen Times >>
